• The Field House: Former Independence Brewing Co. is replaced with a new sports bar across from Reading Terminal.
• The Ugly American: New 60-seat restaurant in South Philly features regional American classics, from Rochester "garbage plates" to a twist on a Pennsylvania Dutch classic (apple pie with cheddar ice cream).
San Francisco
• Café Fillmore : No false advertising here; new eatery's plywood signage reads "coffee & burrito," and that's all you get: a free cup of joe with every burrito.
• The Sherman: Scheduled to debut last summer, this floating restaurant with great water views finally opens in Burlingame.
