Il Lugano: Luxury hotel with 105 suites is scheduled to open today; rates start at $199.

Las Vegas
Prive: Miami nightclub, touting an A-List clientele, debuts its newest location inside the new Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.

Los Angeles
Chanel: Flagship Beverly Hills boutique is re-opened and redesigned -- the building's façade now matches the packaging for Chanel No. 5, its classic fragrance.

New York
Bar Boulud: Daniel Boulud expands his French culinary empire with a bistro and wine bar across from Lincoln Center.
De Berardinis: New high-end salon in Chelsea opens, but the use of Kerastase and Shu Uemera products come at a price -- haircuts are between $100 and $175.
Felice Wine Bar: Upper East Side wine bar features 100 Italian bottles and food from neighboring Sant Ambroeus.
Sakae Sushi: Popular Singapore sushi chain opens its first location in the States, on the ground floor of the Chrysler Building.
Ushiwakamaru: Closed since September, this Houston St. Japanese restaurant is re-opened after renovations.

Paris
Jules Verne: Culinary icon Alain Ducasse opens a restaurant on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower; lunch is $108, dinner $223 and up.

Philadelphia
The Field House: Former Independence Brewing Co. is replaced with a new sports bar across from Reading Terminal.
The Ugly American: New 60-seat restaurant in South Philly features regional American classics, from Rochester "garbage plates" to a twist on a Pennsylvania Dutch classic (apple pie with cheddar ice cream).

San Francisco
Café Fillmore : No false advertising here; new eatery's plywood signage reads "coffee & burrito," and that's all you get: a free cup of joe with every burrito.
The Sherman: Scheduled to debut last summer, this floating restaurant with great water views finally opens in Burlingame.
