The 'Gossip Girl' Guide to New York
Now that the best New York TV show ever made is over for the season due to this interminable writer's strike, it's time to reminisce about Gossip Girl. GG drew such a large and at times obsessive following due to its gross display of wealth and the exorbitance of the upper class, its ability to tackle real life issues (bulimia! dads with drug problems!), its soap opera-style love stories, and implicit references to Verdi's La Traviata. What makes it such a big deal in New York is that it's filmed in real life New York City locations, the most prominent of which we've mapped out for you.
The Met
1000 5th Ave
New York, NY 10028
Blair's clique of friends lunches and hangs out on the steps of the Met, the spot of many a gossip session and power struggle. [link]
Kiss on the Lips Party
42-38 9th St
Queens, NY 11101
The much anticipated Kiss on the Lips Party in the premiere episode takes place at popular Long Island City wedding spot The Foundry. Here everybody gets drunk, and Jenny … almost gets raped. A private residence at the Foundry is the location for all interior shots of the Humphrey pad. [link]
Geisha
33 E 61st St
New York, NY 10065
In the show's pilot, Blaire and Nate have an emotional and uncomfortable dinner at high-end sushi restaurant Geisha. This is where they recognize that their relationship … is in the shitter but that they're going to make it work anyway. [link]
Constance Billard and St. Jude's School for Boys
75 E 93rd St
New York, NY 10128

Campbell Apartment
15 Vanderbilt Ave
New York, NY 10017
Campbell Apartment is a swanky 1920s-themed lounge located in Grand Central. It's also the setting for the "Shepard" wedding and where Serena commits her most regretted … transgression -- heated and drunken sex with best friend B's boyfriend Nate, which we get to see in a flashback. [link]
Bedford Avenue Gallery
147 Roebling St
Brooklyn, NY 11211
Most of the shots of Rufus Humphrey's Williamsburg art gallery are taken on a set. However, a few establishing shots were taken of real life Williamsburg space, the Front … Room Gallery on Roebling Street. The Bedford Avenue Gallery is a great place to see artists who are really from Brooklyn and to hit on the hot and scruffy dad Humphrey. Four women have been after the man on and off throughout the season. [link]
