First Lady Bill Clinton's Favorite DC Haunts
Despite Barack Obama's rout in South Carolina last weekend, cranky John McCain's renaissance, and Mitt Romney's willingness to sell his soul for a vote (do Mormons even have souls?), polls and the futures market predict that come January 2009, Bill Clinton is returning to the White House. And while I don't support Hillary, I will welcome back Bill wholeheartedly -- DC hasn't been much fun since the Bush twins matured. Imagine the possibilities: Bill tripping down the stairs of the White House while on another bender with Greg Norman, Hillary meeting with Nicholas Sarkozy while Bill entertains Sarkozy's hot wife with tea and a nooner, et cetera. When the time comes, here are some places you might spot America's first black First Lady upon his triumphant return to DC.

Georgia Brown's
950 15th St NW
Washington, DC 20005
Yes, this post is the third time I've mentioned Georgia Brown's. The first time was some tongue-in-cheek piece about Stephen Colbert that didn't work too well, the … second when I wrote about DC restaurants that made me sick. Anyway, Georgia Brown's is a well-known favorite of Clinton's; apparently our 42nd president likes having diarrhea. I promise I won't mention this restaurant again, even if the theme of my post is "southern restaurants in DC named Georgia Brown's." [link]
Teaism
800 Connecticut Ave NW
Washington, DC 20006
America's First Ladies are best known for two things: fooling around with women and hosting tea parties. As Clinton's done all right with the former, here's a place to … pick up his tea supplies. Teaism offers a variety of teas that he can serve to a first spouses, whether it's Earl Grey for Prince Phillip or green tea for Mrs. Dalai Lama. And in case the Secret Service deems this venue unsafe, there are also Teaisms in the Penn Quarter and Lafayette Square. (photo) [link]
Cafe Milano
3251 Prospect St NW
Washington, DC 20007
Gridskipper itself listed Cafe Milano as a favorite power-lunch spot for Bill Clinton and other Democrats. Online reviews, however, testify that like the Clinton … family, Cafe Milano peaked in the 1990s. No word on whether, if Hillary is elected, it will start offering boxed lunches. (photo) [link]
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington, DC 20006
Traditionally called "the people's house," the Clinton's turned it into the people's hotel, where contributors could spend an evening in the Lincoln Bedroom and interns … could spend 15 minutes under a desk. Should Hillary be elected, it'd be interesting to find out what goes through her mind whenever she enters the Oval Office study. [link]
Georgetown University
O St NW & 37th St NW
Washington, DC
From 1964 to 1968, Bill Clinton was a member of the most self-important student body east of Berkeley. Other "famous for Washington" alumni include Jack Abramoff, Pat … Buchanan, and Douglass Feith. Georgetown students and alumni love reciting a list of the university's distinguished alumni. Its one of their most endearing traits. [link]
Lauriol Plaza
1835 18th St NW
Washington, DC 20009
Lauriol Plaza, a Mexican restaurant in Dupont Circle, is a great place to eat if you don't value taste in your food, but enjoy screaming floozies looking to get pregnant … so they can stop working. News reports abound with stories of Bill Clinton dining here. And Flickr abounds with pictures of people dining here who you'd never want to meet. If you do visit Lauriol Plaza, order a douche taco. It's not on the menu, but trust me, it's there. (photo) [link]
