The Late Night Shots Guide to DC
After a brief sabbatical, the feud between preppy, invite-only social network Late Night Shots and Wonkette, Washington City Paper, and other ironic hipster media outlets has begun anew. With LNS having just been deemed reality-TV worthy (maybe) and the LNS founder entertaining a Wonkette photographer with his uproarious Sean Penn imitation, DC is witnessing a renaissance of the summer of 2007. (Can a Larry Craig relapse be far behind?) Gridskipper already covered how to avoid douchebags in Georgetown. But what if you want to find them? You know, if only to document their doings.

Back in 2006, The Guards hosted Late Night Shots's Christmas party (apparently Smith Point was being bleached that night). When I first moved to DC, I loved The Guards. … Then I turned 25. On weekend nights the place is full of bad people, bad music, and bad beers. And to think at one point that all appealed to me. (photo) [link]

Angela Valdez's epic Washington City Paper cover story on LNS kicks off at Town Hall. While interviewing three LNS members, one of them asked her, "Do you like anal … sex?" -- a question that might be more horrifying if Howard Stern hadn't asked it of every female guest on his radio show for the past 15 years. No doubt Valdez's offense at the question was only trumped by her thrill for receiving such fodder. Anyway, Town Hall is a dull bar in Glover Park frequented by yuppies and preppies. As for whether or not it's a good place to score some anal, it probably depends on your approach. (photo) [link]
Smith Point

Like the big-ass Mormon temple that's visible from the Beltway, Smith Point is a Mecca for dorky-looking white folk in DC that only admits those who are on The List. (No … word on if you can get your ancestors on Smith Point's list posthumously.) One difference between the LDSers and the LNSers is that Smith Point is at least open to heathens one night a week -- assuming you don't mind donating to charities, like the one that instructs inner-city youth on the finer points of polo.
