Orphaned Tia the Gorilla Doing Just Fine, May Go Into the Wild

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

Tia, a baby gorilla born on February 6th, is thriving after having received around-the-clock-care after being rejected by her mother, Tamki. Both gorillas live at the Port Lympne Wild Animal Park in Kent. As Tia is a western gorilla, a species considered critically endangered, "it is hoped that Tia will be released into the wild in the Congo or Gabon in Central Africa." The video above captures tiny Tia, then 3-weeks-old, sporting a diaper, finger-holding, bottle-feeding and stretching her Hulk-like arms and fists wide.
