Webster Hall was landmarked by

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

websterhallnyc031808.jpgWebster Hall was landmarked by the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission yesterday. Since its debut back in 1886, the East Village space has welcomed "bohemian balls, political rallies and performances by some of the nation's best-known musicians, including Elvis Presley and Ray Charles." Unfortunately, today, in addition to noteworthy bands, you're also likely to find a poor PA system and and Thursday ladies nights, where unassuming female NYU students rub shoulders with pushy B&T dudes.
