Some good news for travelers: the Department of Transportation is doubling the amount of compensation (currently limited to $400 or less) air carriers have to give passengers who are bumped from flights. "The new rule applies to most planes carrying more than 30 passengers and is likely to go into effect next month." This is the first raise since 1978. [USA Today]
