Wanna Hitch a Ride With Sean Penn?

Friday, April 25, 2008

seanpenncoachella424.jpg"The Dirty Hands Caravan" is a cross-country road trip that will involve nearly 300 people taking bio-diesel buses 1800 miles "in an effort to engage a new generation of activists." Sean Penn is apparently behind the whole adventure, but there's no word yet whether or not he'll actually be aboard one of the buses. The trip ends one week from Sunday in New Orleans; in exchange for food and board passengers are expected to lend a hand at various charitable endeavors along the way. In order to join in you have to fill out an application here.

The actor/activist/director is also taking the stage not once but twice at Coachella on Sunday afternoon, but nobody seems to have any clue what the "performance" will entail as of yet. You'll be among the first to know. I'll be on the scene this weekend soaking up the unbearable heat (which is predicted to run upwards of 100 degrees) and hitting a few parties in between the dozens and dozens of live shows. So stay tuned.
