Various conflicting reports on causes and effects have issued from different nations and companies in the region, with one Egyptian official blaming a "boat's anchor"; repair times range from at least a week to unknown. Meanwhile, "India's Internet bandwidth has been sliced in half," and Dubai's private sector has been crippled by significant loss of both data and voice communication.
