Giraffe Manor

04202006.15a.jpgWell, they give it away right in the name: Giraffe Manor, on the edge of Nairobi, is infested with giraffes. The 1932 mansion sits on its own 140-acre park, and the owners started raising giraffes there in 1974. The insolent beasts stick their necks through doors and windows throughout the house, begging (and poaching) food whenever possible. I'm guessing this is fun for the first day, but after that, you'd best keep a tight grip on the defensive broomhandle when breakfasting. The handful of available rooms are spacious and nicely decorated with local furnishings, and rates start at $310 per night.
