Gambero Rosso in Rome

gamerorosso.jpgThe Gambero Rosso is the Italian version of the Michelin guide but, as Italians are wont to be, a bit nicer and less formal. The restaurant guide/cooking guide also has a huge warehouse complex near the Trastevere in Rome called Citta del Gusto (City of Taste) where legions of foodies flock for affordable gourmet Italian cuisine. The complex, Branch Davidian in its self-sufficiency, houses a television studio, a restaurant, a school, a wine theatre and a wine store. The massive 5,000 m2 complex is also tekked up to the gills any part of the building can be used as a stage. On September 9th, Citta del Gusto will be open for an all night fete called La Notte Bianca featuring a special seafood menu, live music and a Katrina's worth of wine. But just be careful, you're probably being filmed.
