Le Studio Dance

Founded in 1979, Le Studio Dance is Pasadena's premiere ballet and dance studio, offering adult classes in ballet, jazz, tap, flamenco, hip-hop, Pilates body conditioning, and other disciplines. Single classes are $16; packages are also available.[link]

Los Angeles Dance Experience

Los Angeles Dance Experience has been called the most beautiful dance studio in LA. They have five levels of ballroom dancing lessons, with Ballroom Level One being the basic lessons in waltz, foxtrot, East Coast swing, cha-cha, and rumba. Also on offer are Argentine tango, salsa, and a course called the ABC's of Rhythm. Class prices are $75 per person, per six week class. The price drops to $65 for students currently enrolled and continuing in the same class and same level.[link]

Ballroom Blitz

Specializing in all ballroom and Latin dances: waltz, tango, foxtrot, quick step, Viennese waltz, rumba, cha cha cha, samba, paso doble, jive, East Coast swing, West Coast swing, mambo, salsa, hustle, merengue, bolero, and more, Eagle Rock's Ballroom Blitz offers both group and private classes. You don't need a partner, and those just starting out are encouraged to sign up for their "6-Pack" (6 lessons for $50). Their Monday night Intro Salsa deal is a steal at $5, and runs from 6:30 to 7p.m.[link]

NDM Dance

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays from 7 to 8 p.m., all you wannabe Bollywood divas out there can enjoy lessons at an exclusive, custom designed Indian dance facility that just happens to be the first Bollywood dance school in the nation. Also offered are private classes in bhangra, folk, wedding performances, and groom & bridal dance training. Tuition is paid in month to month rates, at $80 per student, per month, or quarter rates, at $210 for three months.[link]

Swerve Studio

Famous for kicking off the yoga booty ballet craze a few years back, Swerve Studio offers classes ranging from Bollywood bhangra beats to soul dancing and belly dance, all housed in a veritable temple of good vibes. All single classes are $16, and packages are available, including the $190 Total Goddess Package, which includes a month of unlimited Swerve classes, cardio rental in their gym, and 15% off all clothing for the duration of your membership.[link]

Hollywood Dance Center

The Hancock Park-adjacent Hollywood Dance Center offers everything from ballet and flamenco, to Irish dance and pole dancing. Their two large studios boast sprung maple floors, walls of mirrors, lots of windows, and central air conditioning. Teachers rent studio space and set their own class rates, which generally range from $12 to $15.[link]

3rd Street Dance

3rd Street Dance, right across from the Beverly Center, has been around for over 20 years and offers something for everyone. They keep their classes small and their instructors skilled in teaching Argentine tango, salsa, merengue, Afro-Cuban samba, cha cha, and mambo, to name a few. If it's ballroom dance that you're interested in, they offers classes including foxtrot, waltz, rumba, and bolero. Not to be forgotten are their incredibly fun swing and Lindy hop classes, as well as occasional sessions in specialty dances, such as the hustle and the Texas 2-step, all of which are always available as private lessons. Single classes are $15, and package deals are available.[link]
