Have You Seen Us?

Wednesday, August 29, 2007

Or, are you us? A reader found this photo, among many others, on a digital camera card apparently misplaced by other travelers in some Mexican ruins. Assuming this isn't evidence of ancient Mayan technology (and ancient stripey shirts), the reader's trying to locate the owner(s).

UPDATE: Torontoist also posted the pic, and the young lady in the photo got in touch with them. Apparently the camera card was three years old (!), and it belonged to her; she and the stripey shirt fellow are no longer together, so she asked that the photo be taken down. We obliged. Now-poignant original email from the photo-finder, after the jump.

I was in Tulum, Mexico in April of this year. We spent one morning exploring the ruins at Coba, and I found somebody's digital camera media. I only recently was able to view the pictures on the cards (it was a newer format that my old card reader couldn't read). At any rate, I'm sure the guy who took the pictures would like to have them back. From looking at the pictures, I'm guessing he's North American -- either Canadian or from the Midwest. And some of the pictures are from a trip to Cuba -- probably a once-in-a-lifetime trip. But that's about all I could figure out.
