East End Shopping Preview: Rugby Ralph Lauren, Bellhaus, Mulberry Pop-Up, Intermix, Urban Zen!

Friday, May 23, 2008

Yes, there will always be The Momogram Shop, Scoop at the Beach, and Bookhampton, but the summer brings a new array of options for those inclined to part with some moolah while in the Hamptons. With a tip of the cap to our sister blog Racked, here's a primer on the new fashion boutiques of note.

1) Rugby Ralph Lauren. About which we've already had plenty to say. 32 Main Street, East Hampton, (631) 907-0960, official site.

2008_05_bell.jpg2) Bellhaus. An ambitious merger of couture fashion for women and men (think Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, and the hott swimwear at right) and items and gifts for the home (furniture, candles from Modern Alchemy), Bellhaus has just opened on the Wainscott strip. Gutsy mix; it'll be interesting to see if they connect with buyers. 328 Montauk Highway, Wainscott, (631) 537-5050, official site.

3) Mulberry Pop-Up Store. British leather goods retailer Mulberry is popping up in East Hampton; watch out for a full men's and women's assortment including Cutler and Gross sunglasses, t-shirts, and the like. Opening tomorrow, May 24, through Labor Day. Paper Magazine has a few more details. 48 Main Street, East Hampton, no phone just yet, official site.

4) Intermix. Having thrown open its doors earlier this month, this time-tested NYC boutique has finally arrived in the Hamptons. You know the drill here, yes? Yes. 87 Main Street, East Hampton, (631) 907-8025, official site.

5) Urban Zen/b>. It was supposed to open earlier this week, but tomorrow will officially be the first day at this Donna Karan-backed store that's already become a staple on Greenwich Street in NYC. Free your mind and stock up on jewelry, fashion, and the like. 4 Bay Street, Sag Harbor, (631) 725-6176, official site.
