I once read an interview with Diane Keaton in which she talked about her inspiration for that iconic Annie Hall look. The secret? Well, she explained, that's what everyone was wearing in SoHo at the time. You'd think it would be more complicated than that, but alas, she was just a typical downtown gal trying to have a little fun and look good doing it. Some decades later, that much hasn't changed, except for the major fact that fashion culture is now a global one (the Internets -- hello!). It's not news to anyone that Berlin is getting more hip by the minute. But the constant rise in hipness means everyday new boutiques (the canaries of cool) are popping up and for a visitor, the glut of opportunities can be overwhelming.
