The Best Sex Shop in Tokyo

poplifesexshop.jpgPop Life is a massive six-floor department store located in the heart of Tokyo's Akihabara "Electric Town" that sells every imaginable sexual souvenir. Seriously, there is an entire shelf solely devoted to Hello Kitty vibrators. Along with sex shop standards such as porn DVDs, lube, dildos, and bondage gear, Pop Life stocks a huge selection of sex dolls. The Japanese have made some incredible advances in the fields of simulated sex and realistic, rubberized skin. On the upper floors, they sell costumes for love dolls and living, breathing cosplay and Loligoth enthusiasts. The stairs are lined with autographed Polaroids showing happy female customers enjoying their schoolgirl uniforms, Little Bo Peep dresses, and cheerleader outfits. By far the most amazing items at Pop Life are their wide variety of masturbation robots. Great News for Travelers, Bad News for Cheating Spouses, Teenagers

gps%20monitoring.jpgToday's Circuits section in the New York Times has a roundup of recent advancements in cellphone GPS technology, from the vaguely frightening child monitoring features to more useful tools that locate concert venues and restaurants and find cheap gas prices. First the creepy: at least six different monitoring services, including Verizon's Chaperone, Helio's Buddy Beacon, and Sprint's Family Locator, available to any customer with a GPS-enabled phone. But these aren't all meant to assist the actual users of the phone in question.
