Nothing spells summer like ice cream, and though we might be accused of getting ahead of ourselves considering the Sydney season's only just shifted into spring, any excuse will do to get stuck into some good frozen dairy. Sydney's proliferation of gelatarias and ice creameries are already ramping up for steady business as the clouds clear, and with flavors that get ever more creative each year, there's plenty to try. Here's a few to keep an eye out for in the coming warmer months.

This may be the perfect time of year for gelato in Los Angeles, when all the gelatistas use bounty from the farmer's markets to create all kinds of wacky flavor combos. Gelato is also totally hot right now, coming in a close second after cupcakes in Angelenos' dessert Olympics. Some gelato joints have been in LA forever, while others are new and hipstery. Either way, creamy goodness can be yours in just about any LA neighborhood.
