In a real-life "Italian Job"
In a real-life "Italian Job" robbery, thieves have stolen millions of euros worth of jewelry from Damiani's showroom in Milan. "Luckily for the showroom, some of its most valuable pieces were on display at the Oscar ceremony in Lost Angeles" last night (including a bracelet worn by winner Tilda Swinton). The thieves--"seven men, unarmed and unmasked"--entered through an underground tunnel that had been dug leading into the cellar of the showroom, tied up the staff and walked off with a not-yet-known sum of jewels leaving "very little trace" behind. Jewelry Boutiques in LA
It's time to start freaking out about gifts! And since you already haven't taken care of it, you better atone by buying some really expensive stuff. Ah, the holiday spirit. It compels us to buy and spend and spend and buy, and we love it. If there's someone in your life who might appreciate some shiny, sparkly adornments, first consult this list of bauble purveyors in Los Angeles. It leaves off wholesalers in the jewelry district, generally, as that is a beast unto itself. This is a citywide map to sellers of vintage or one-of-a-kind or hippie-pleasing jewelry -- the better to shop for others. Or more importantly, yourself. (And if you can guess whose blingy boobies are in the photo at left, I'll buy you a drink.)
