Cool Capitals

102405.14.jpgSlate launched a "special advertising section" today in honor of Cool Capitals, a spiffy travel site pitching packages to Amsterdam, Antwerp, Vienna, and Zurich. Slate doesn't hype the site themselves, so perhaps all they're doing is hosting it and running the blogs. Because yes, there are blogs. Today's blog-chunk on Amsterdam highlighted several dining and nightlife points of interest, and it reads like some very nice, clean, safe advertorial copywriting. That said, if you can hold the material at arm's length, the Cool Capitals guide does list quite a few properties, and it's lots of fun to navigate around the site and watch the little animated citizens stroll around their micro-metropoli. Wait, no it's not.
