Oscar's Guide to LA

vc82.jpgThe Oscars are still two and a half weeks away, but we thought we'd get revved up for them now with a handy user's guide to the events. Below you'll find out where the celebs party before, after, and during the Oscars, where they get tweezed and primped, and where they break their awards season fast.

The Kodak Theater: The Academy Awards will be held at the Kodak Theater on February 25th. All of Hollywood Blvd will be closed off so access will be difficult. Bleachers for 300 fans will be set up along the 500 foot red carpet, but the tickets for these seats have already been given away during a fall lottery.

The Vanity Fair After Party at Morton's Steak House: The famous Vanity Fair after party is held at celeb hangout Morton's every year. The steakhouse is already the playground for various Hollywood stars, producers, and agents, but on this night it will be completely packed with LA's glitterati.

Astro Burger: Astro Burger is where Hilary Swank was spotted in '05 stuffing her face with a burger after her win for Million Dollar Baby. We wouldn't be surprised to see equally starved actresses finally gorging themselves after the long awards season of fasting. Check out Defamer's post on Swank.

The Tower Bar (Creative Arts Agency) held their Golden Globes after party here and we suspect they'll have some sort of shin dig after the Academy Awards.

Pacific Design Center: The cool design complex complete with conference rooms, a multiplex, and galleries, is where Elton John will be hosting his after party this year.

Anastacia Eyebrow Waxing Named the best eyebrow waxer in the city by Los Angeles Magazine and famous for shaping the eyebrows of the likes of Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Reese Witherspoon, and Penelope Cruz, Anastasia Soare will surely have a packed schedule on the days leading up to the Oscars. Oprah has been known to pay thousands just to fly her out to Chicago to wax her brows.

Chateau Marmont: A favorite retreat for the folks in Hollywood, the Chateau Marmont is also a choice hangout. The famous hotel is where John Belushi died and where James Dean met Natalie Woods. Nowadays the hotel and the adjacent hot spot bar have hosted Leo DiCaprio, Jude Law, Lindsay Lohan, and Colin Farrell.

The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel: If you didn't get a ticket to the red carpet bleachers, another place to see the arriving stars is from the Roosevelt Hotel. The famous Hollywood hotel offers perfect views of the Kodak Theater and the Gable-Lombard Penthouse suite goes for over $5,000 on Oscar night.

Hollywood and Highland Grand Ballroom The yearly Governor's Ball, hosted by the Academy of Arts and Sciences, is held here at the Hollywood and Highland after the Oscars broadcast. 1,600 Oscar winners, nominees, telecast participants, and Academy guests attend the event every year. The last 12 Governor's Balls have been catered by Wolfgang Puck.

Pre-Oscar Parties: The big time agents always host pre-Oscar parties with hundreds of celebs, musicians, and media execs. Last year the big ones were held by ICM's Ed Limato and CAA's Bryan Lourd. Here's what went down at the parties in '06.
