WaPo's Crabby Best of DC: Obrycki's Crab House & Seafood Restaurant

Wednesday, August 16, 2006

crabs.jpgTis late summer and the season for best of roundups. The San Fran Bay Guardian just did theirs the other day and now the Washington Post spewed forth a massive torrent of best of. Among the best of the best of is where to get crabs in DC. Now we always thought your best bet was the Camelot Club but it turns out we've been grinding up against the wrong exoskeleton. Going Out Guru's, the WaPo's crackshot nightlife blogging team, recommends Obrycki's Crab House & Seafood Restaurant. The Crab House has crabs six ways to Sunday: caked, steamed, boiled, baked, fried. The crabs are so fresh you can fairly see their little wisp of crustacean spirit exit their bodies. But be forewarned, stray not from the crab path as the restaurant's other dishes (hamburger, steak, shrimp, mozzarella sticks) are notoriously underpar. And for those of you who can't be bothered to trek down to DC, Obrycki's does mail order so you can get your crabs either incall our outcall.
