Google Launches My Maps

Thursday, April 5, 2007

my%20google%20maps.jpgThe maposphere is abuzz this morning with the launch of My Maps, the Google Maps customizer that answers similar services like Wayfaring and Platial, not to mention Windows Live Local. Users can create map points complete with text, images, and video, not to mention draw routes, lines, and other shapes on the maps. Sharing within Google Maps and via KML is also supported. For a few early examples, see this oral history of Route 66 or a map of fields for the cricket World Cup.
