Holiday Inn Park Slope Finally Opens

Friday, August 11, 2006

parkslopeholidayinn.jpgFinally, after an incredibly long labor, Park Slope gave birth to its very own Holiday Inn Express. The week-old 9-story 115-room "boutique" hotel is nestled into a picaresque block on Union Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues, complete with recently condemned buildings. A prime example of Holiday Inn's ongoing commitment to daring architecture, the hotel has a rich color palette of beige and a slightly darker shade of beige. Among other amenities, including free wifi and local telephone calls are breakfast buffet's hard boiled eggs and "the world's best tasting cinnamon roll," whose recipe, according to Richard, who answered the phone at the hotel, "were passed down through the generations of the Holiday Inn." Rooms go from $139 to $209.
