Best Breakfast in West Hollywood

best-breakfast-in-west-hollywood.jpgWhen people think of West Hollywood, images of people who flock to Sunset and Santa Monica Boulevards in the evenings to drink, dance, and plot revenge against parking enforcement come to mind. We've already discussed where in WeHo you can find a cheap drink, but there are only so many martinis you can guzzle before you have to find some nourishment. Once you wake up, breakfast serves as great way to get some sustenance and the perfect excuse to get rid of any strangers that you found using your toothbrush in the morning.

Silver Spoon

Los Angeles, CA 90046

The Silver Spoon makes some of the best diner fare in Los Angeles, and although there is no special tribute to Rick Schroeder, you will find Robert Forster holding court on the patio four or five days a week. My Monte Cristo-crazy friends say that they do it very well here, but I stick with the hearty omelets and the home fries. The trendier types tend to shy away from this place most of the time, so there is a never a wait, and the people who do show up are sure to give you more entertainment anyway. The patio is great, they have their own parking and offer a weekly trivia quiz. What's not to love? [link]

Hugos

Some establishments talk a big game about healthy eating, but this restaurant takes it to another level. It's not only organic everything, free-range everything, no hormones, transfats or antibiotics used with anything, but uses filtered water in everything (including the ice!) as well. And if you haven't guessed, you can ask for a vegetarian or vegan version of almost any option on the menu. Renovated recently, the venue has gone a little upscale, but everybody who works there remains very friendly. And as long as they still sling a lot of breakfast favorites like the Go Green Frittata and the cinnamon swirl French toast, people will keep coming back. [link]

Eat Well

8252 Santa Monica Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90046

This West Hollywood favorite is great if you want all the greasiness that your bourbon-lined stomach is begging for but your friends demand you find a place that will serve brown rice and tofu with their egg whites. While the seating is usually quick, service can sometimes drag, especially if your she-bonics loving waiter is trying to get the number of that guy he met while in line for the Abbey the day before. Once you get their attention, the food comes quick, with large portions and good prices. [link]
