LA's Best Hotel Restaurants

Wednesday, November 21, 2007

hotelrestosmainla.jpgHotel restaurants are generally associated with reheated buffets and outrageous prices, but slowly, sloooowly, that reputation is changing. LA has a range of kick-ass restaurants located in hotels, but you have to know where to find them. The following hotels contain restaurants that have made an impression with visitors and locals alike -- and if a hotel can get a local to eat within its pricey walls, it's got a winner for a restaurant.

Ritz-Carlton Huntington

1401 S Oak Knoll Ave
Pasadena, CA 91106

Le Parc Suites

733 NW Knoll Dr
West Hollywood, CA 90069

Why this place isn't more popular, I'll never know. The dinner I had there is still one of the best I've had in LA, ever. The chef is creative, he makes good French onion soup, and diners can eat in a rooftop cabana. Good choice for a date night. [link]

Orlando Hotel

8384 W 3rd St
Los Angeles, CA 90048

The Orlando is a small-ish hotel hiding behind a grey façade, so you'd never expect to find one of the best Italian restaurants in town behind the walls. Seriously: so delicious, so authentic. Go there. [link]

Hollywood Roosevelt

7000 Hollywood Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90028

The Roosevelt has, among many other things to recommend, two good restaurants. 25 Degrees is kind of the leader of the gourmet burger movement, and Dakota is a classy-ass steakhouse. [link]
