Great article in the International

pushpak%20express.jpgGreat article in the International Herald Tribune about the Pushpak Express, a train that brings poor migrant workers from central India to Mumbai. A sealed-off series of cars on the 24-hour route, third class passengers mix with vendors, beggars, and the odd transsexual in a "last hurrah" of village collective congeniality before the big city absorbs them all.
