LoSide Diner Closed: One Small Step for Hell Square, One Giant Step for Mankind

victory.jpgAfter years, literally years, of flouting the laws of the free market, LoSide diner has finally died. We hope, at least. The diner which we've never seen with more than two customers at-a-time has struggled its whole life. But before pity wells up and tears flow at the snuffing out of such a hardscrabble life, remember that the food at LoSide always always was horrible, sometimes even bordering on the absurd. The service was a mockery of the concept and the decor was alienating melange of exposed-brick and bad art, the interior decorating version of smooth jazz. And yet despite its flaws, the little trooper, like Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke, kept on keeping on. The place was knocked down often, sometimes due to circumstances beyond its control like when the building became unstable and sometimes when the owner Brian Crawford realized it was more cost effective to rent out its space for movie productions, and yet it always got back up. However, after serving probably 50 eggs, this time the diner's down for the count.

LoSide Diner RIP
