This year, Whole Foods is offering an organic Thanksgiving dinner for eight people for $169. That's quite a deal if you check out how much a comparative meal would cost … at some of the other caterers. The meal includes a cooked organic turkey, mashed potatoes, New England stuffing, cranberry orange relish, and green beans. They have a lengthy a la carte menu (including heritage turkeys) if those items don't strike your fancy, as well as numerous vegan options. The famous Bleecker Street cheesemongers now have a catering arm. The takeout dinner here is a little pricier than some other choices on this list, especially considering … it includes a roulade instead of a full turkey. However, the menu does look delicious. Their $300 meal for six people includes a free range turkey roulade packed with cheese and stuffing, candied yams, cranberry relish, stuffing, green bean casserole, and pumpkin cheesecake. Much loved French restaurant iCi will be offering both an a la carte and a prix fixe menu to go this Thanksgiving. Choose between a three-course $45 per head set menu, or … order your turkey (a hormone-free, grain-fed variety of course) by the pound along with sides like mushroom and pumpkin risotto, pear chestnut stuffing, cranberry compote, and pecan tart, all in the $5 per serving range. For something a little less traditional and stuffy -- more laid back and greasy -- order the to-go Thanksgiving meal at Hill Country, the city's most recent addition to … its growing BBQ scene. The dinner for 5-8 people costs $175 and includes a whole pit-smoked (!) turkey, cornbread with honey butter, three 32-oz sides, and a 10'' pie or sheet cake. If you're having a bigger celebration, you can get a meal fit for 12 hungry people for $255. [link]

Dean & DeLuca has the usual turkey ($70-$90) and an extensive menu of traditional and eclectic sides. I mostly like their dessert menu, which includes a pumpkin cake … (shaped like a pumpkin and covered in orange fondant), a chocolate turkey, pumpkin whoopie pies, and a mini-pie sampler. Mmm, mini-pies. Sides will run you about $12 a pound, and desserts range from $55 to well over $100. [link]

This is one of the few places in the city to get famous heritage turkeys all stuffed, seasoned, and cooked for you. The rare birds (said to have a more juicy and robust … flavor due to how long they take to grow) will run you $75 to $165 depending on size. For accompaniments, try cornbread stuffing with corn, chiles, and cranberries, regular or horseradish mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and butternut squash with pears and hazelnuts. Citarella is offering almost two dozen different entree options, from wild turkeys ($5.99 a pound) to suckling pig ($9.99 per pound) to a standing rib roast ($20.99 per … pound). For sides, choose from a long menu including pumpkin bisque, poached asparagus, stuffed acorn squash, sausage stuffing, and all the other usual suspects. And in addition to their traditional apple and pumpkin pies, Citarella has cheesecake, lemon tart, and chocolate dipped strawberries. [link]

This year, French bistro Cercle Rouge will be offering a $39.50 three course prix fixe in their restaurant, but you can get a takeaway meal for $18 per pound which … includes roast turkey, foie gras, pear & chestnut stuffing, and pumpkin, apple, and potato gratin. Looks like they don't have pie to go, but that's all the more reason to make your guests bring the sweets or stop at nearby Bubby's. To-go orders here should be placed by end of the day on the 15th.
