Cibelle's Parisian Hangouts

cibelleparis.jpgIf you don't know who Cibelle is you're one of many. I didn't know either until I started rooting around on Go Go Paris's Hangout page. The series charts where a number of Parisian socialites, artists and bobos hang out. Though their luminescence doesn't rival the interviewees on CNN's The Scene (Takashi Murikami in Tokyo, Jane Birkin in Paris), the lack of star power is made up by how rad the interviewees are and by the fact that, unlike CNN, they actually list places. Cibella, for instance, is an absolutely beautiful singer, somewhere between Keren Ann and Joanna Newsome. And my can she eat onion rings seductively. If you want to run into her, among her favorite places are:

La Perle: A super smoky hip bar in the Marais, full of APC staff and coked-up hipsters.

Favela Chic: A Brazilian themed club in Oberkampf.

Le Hotel Amour: A super hip hotel/restaurant run by the singularly named Andre, who recently expanded his empire overseas, being one third of Beatrice Inn.

Free 'P' Star: What you think charming trenchcoats and day dresses grow on trees? No, Cibelle and other fashionistas love this vintage shop in the Marais.

"'Massage from Violette'. 'Massage avec Violette.'
Chez Edgard, 5/6 rue de Sèze, 9th. M° Madeleine. 01.47.42.74.13.": By far the most promising place to run into this belle du jour, we have no idea what this is, can't find any info on it and yet would still buy a ticket to France and away in wild hope of somehow getting a massage from Violette directly before or after Cibelle.
