Best DC Hookups for Craigslist Missed Connections

Friday, December 7, 2007

best%20craigslist%20missed%20connections%20washington%20dc.jpgI yearn for a missed connection. Apparently I've not been hanging out in the right places, though. What an ego boost it would be to check the listings and see someone searching for your exact description because he or she can't get you and your cuteness out of his or her head. Someday, it'll happen: "Black hair and glasses at the club last night. Can't get your surliness off my mind. Coffee sometime?" Perhaps it's time to start trolling these DC hives of missed connections for your very own passive-aggressive stalker sweeitie.

Caribou Coffee @ Logan Circle

1400 14th St NW
Washington, DC 20005

"That skim latte you ordered really made me want to do you." Well, shy coffee drinkers aren't quite that direct on Craigslist, but the amount of people getting boners for others at this Caribou Coffee stuns me. This week's favorite: "Didn't mean to stare. Hope I didn't creep you out." Now if that doesn't get you a date, I don't know what will. (photo) [link]

JR's

1519 17th St NW
Washington, DC 20036

JR's is not one of those straight-friendly gay bars, meaning fag hags will feel a tad left out and unwanted here. So don't head to Monday night's showtunes sing-a-long or Wednesday night's trivia if you're a lady looking for some straight man penis. Cute and unassuming Rent fans, however ... you're on the path to love. My favorite excerpt from this week's JR's posts remains: "I have more to tell you -- and you me." How intriguing! Watch out for the bouncers, though. (photo) [link]

Reagan Washington National Airport

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, USA

While traveling, so many opportunities pass to see interesting people going to neat places. There's the yellow line metro ride to the airport, the waiting area, baggage claim, the actual flight. You're either excited about where you're going or reveling in the trip you just had. You can bellyache and complain with your fellow pretty traveler over airplane food and flight delays. Hopefully your Craigslist post will score you a reunion. (photo) [link]

Whole Foods @ P Street

1440 P St NW
Washington, DC 20005

Are you a sexy grocery buyer? Wine, cheese, fruit, and ice cream? Someone's bound to notice your purchases instead of thumbing through a health magazine at the checkout. Many a missed connection are posted by people who held the door open for someone or locked eyes at the salad bar. In the hip, expensive, and well-dressed Logan Circle area, the Whole Foods remains a great place to score a sugar daddy or momma. And some organic sugar. (photo) [link]

Dance Nights @ Black Cat

1811 14th St NW
Washington, DC 20009

How can someone not fall in love with you while you're grooving to the sweet sounds of an alternative or indie rock DJ? Bop around at Mousetrap, DC's biggest Britpop dance night, swing your hips at WAG (1960s garage and soul), or move your feet at one of the Cat's signature "vs." parties -- Cure vs. Smiths, New Order vs. Duran Duran, Prince vs. Michael Jackson. Your best bet at love here is a bumbling, heterosexual, emaciated, thick-Rivers-Cuomo-glasses type of match. (photo) [link]
